THOMAS-FENNER-WOODS – PILLAR OF CENTRAL OHIO COMMUNITY
COLUMBUS, OH – Thomas-Fenner-Woods Agency, Inc. (TFW) was honored Thursday, January 13 with the Smart Business Pillar Award for Community Service.
According to Smart Business, the award honors “responsible corporate citizens that understand the importance of giving back to the communities that support it.”
The award was developed by Smart Business and Medical Mutual to publicize the vital importance of philanthropy and volunteerism to the communal relationship among for-profit and nonprofit businesses in the region.
“Community service has always been important to TFW, going back to our beginnings in 1932,” said TFW CEO Bob Fenner. “This award reinforces our belief that a strong community-service philosophy strengthens business.”
TFW fosters a culture of philanthropy, and as a result, more than half of its employees personally engage in community service activities to support United Way, Columbus Cancer Clinic, LifeCare Alliance and TriVillage Mentor League/Big Brothers Big Sisters and as well as many others.
TFW associates contribute hundreds of hours of service time and thousands of dollars in direct and in-kind donations to local charities annually.
